INCa, the French National Cancer Institute is the pre-eminent national health and science agency dedicated to cancers.  INCa has been created under the Public Health Act of 9 August 2004 and is attached to both the Ministries of Health and of Research. INCa plays a key pivotal role in the national coordination of the actions against cancer which are provided in the Cancer Control Plans (2003-2007, 2009-2013) endorsed by the President of France. The missions of INCa encompass public health, research, care & patient’s life, and information to people & professionals. INCa’s ambition & commitment is to reduce mortality & morbidity from cancer, through coordinated programs, to better address health inequalities and to improve the quality of life of the patients during and after the disease. INCa conducts studies and survey, provides recommendations and guidelines, implements coordinated programs and supports activities following open & competitive calls for project proposals, and independent evaluation and selection.
The French National Cancer Institute (INCa) recognizes that fighting cancer requires a global international effort. Consequently, INCa considers it is in the furtherance of its mission to promote collaborations with institutions and agencies worldwide in order to support high-quality cancer control initiatives, primary prevention & screening programs, research, patient’ treatment and care.

The Department of International Affairs, within the Research Programs Division, acts as the interface to facilitate the development, implementation and management of the INCa’s international commitments and activities.
