The Ethics Committee

The Ethics Committee is comprised of three members appointed by the Board of Directors, on the recommendation of the chairman of the Board, for renewable 2-year terms.

The National Cancer Institute’s Ethics Committee monitors compliance with the ethics charter drawn up by the Board of Directors.

In particular, it monitors the Institute’s independence from corporate, governmental and professional influences, the legitimacy of its strategic decisions and the impartiality of the messages it sends out and the advice and recommendations it issues, in the interests of transparency in decision-making with regard to cancer treatment policy.
