The Committee of Patients, Friends and Family and Users (CMPU)

The CMPU is made up of people from civil society and representatives of organisations for people affected by cancer appointed by the chairman of INCa.

- The committee is responsible for representing patients, their friends and family and users of the healthcare system before the Institute’s decision-making bodies.
- Its objective is to promote patients’ rights and to ensure that their rights are considered and respected in the actions taken by the Institute.
- Its task is to ensure that patients remain the focus of the cancer treatment and research system.
- Through its spokesperson, it presents its annual report to the chair of the Board of Directors and to the director-general of INCa.
- It has its own rules of procedure specifying its competences and manner of operation.
In 2007, for the second year in a row, the members of the committee of patients, friends and family and users participated in evaluating the proposals received in the annual call for proposals on patient quality of life.
