Prevention of Conflicts of Interest

Last updated on: 02/04/2011

Principles

The Declaration of Interests must be completed by all internal or external collaborators.

The Public Declaration of Interests (DPI) is available on our website.

The assignment director must check the Declaration of Interests, against the conflict of interests screening card (DCI-2007) available on the website.

A contextual analysis similar to a risk-benefit analysis shall be conducted for the at-risk situations identified from the screening card, weighing the associations of interest against the scope and subject matter of the expert's report. In the event of a major conflict of interests, the Institute shall refrain from commissioning the expert in question. In particularly uncertain cases, it is possible to call upon the Chairman of the Institute to give a ruling on collaborating with the expert.

Experts who are entrusted with confidential information within the framework of their assignments from the Institute shall complete the Confidentiality Agreement form (EC-2007).

The Ethics Committee shall ensure “the independence of the Institute from corporate, governmental and professional influences, the legitimacy of its strategic decisions and the impartiality of the messages it sends out and the advice and recommendations it issues in order to enlighten the public decision on cancer care policy”.
