Translational Research ERA-NET

The purpose of this European tool is to co-ordinate research activities and funding implemented at regional or national level within the Member States or Associated States. This co-ordination is organised through a research activity network open to both national and regional research programmes with the aim of launching joint calls for proposals.

This project saw the light of day thanks to the efforts of 5 countries and institutions (GO5), viz.: the National Cancer Research Institute (United Kingdom), the German Federal Ministry of Research, the Carlos II Institute for Health (Spain), Alleanza contro il cancro (Italy) and INCa. This ERA-NET was announced on the occasion of the 4th call for proposals of the 7th Framework Programme for research and development (PCRD) (FP7).

The application to create this ERA-NET was submitted in January 2010. Co-ordinated by the Italian Ministry of Health, this project brings together 25 partners from 19 different countries.
