L'Institut National du Cancer a organisé le jeudi 26 janvier 2012, à Boulogne-Billancourt, une journée de restitution des projets qu'il a financé sur la thématique « Précarité et cancer du col de l’utérus »

Organisée en partenariat par l'Institut National du Cancer et l’Agence nationale pour la Cohésion Sociale et l’Egalité des chances, cette journée s’est déroulée le 23 mai 2011 à Paris, à la Cité internationale universitaire. Cette journée a permis d’aborder des thématiques telles que les dépistages dans les quartiers prioritaires de la politique de la ville, les facteurs de protection et de risques des cancers. Elle a également été l’occasion de présenter des expériences de terrain.

L'Institut National du Cancer a organisé les 6, 7 et 8 décembre un séminaire des programmes nationaux de dépistage organisé du cancer du sein et du cancer colorectal. Ce séminaire s'est articulé autour de sessions plénières et d'ateliers, permettant d'aborder de nombreuses thématiques.

European dental surgeons convened on June 12 2009 for a symposium dedicated to “Experiences in early detection of oral cancer in Europe”. Organised by the French Ministry of Health, INCa and the European section (ERO) of the International Dental Federation, this conference afforded an opportunity for dental surgeons to share observations and experiences from various European countries. We should remember that France is a European country where oral cancer incidence and mortality are still worrying issues.

Organised by France’s DGS, InVS and INCa, in collaboration with the Association of Co-ordinating Doctors for Acorde (Screening Coordinators Association), the National Breast Cancer Screening Programme Seminar was held on Monday 18 May and Tuesday 19 May 2009 in Paris. Representatives of the relevant institutions discussed the organisational and technical methodology of this screening programme.

Medec, the General Medicine Conference, was held in Paris from 11 to 13 March 2009. In this context, INCa sponsored a session on the theme of “Cancer Screening: Status Report and Outlook”. Presided over by Jérôme Viguier, Head of the INCa Screening Department, this meeting took stock of various screening practices in France, both organised and individual. A specific report was provided on the role of the general practitioner in this context.

The event, held on 14 January 2009, brought together close to fifty French and international experts (ENT surgeons, odontologists, stomatologists and maxillofacial surgeons, dental surgeons, anatomical pathologists, etc.) as well as institutional experts (Ministry of Health and Sport, National Health Insurance, HAS, InVS, etc.). The objective was to draw up an inventory of current scientific knowledge and draw lessons from it for a French strategy.
